Scott Pearlman and The Brightwood Tavern

Scott Pearlman is at it again and he has set the standard higher for himself.  His latest project is not motorcycle related, like his last one, but we are pretty sure you will like it just the same!  He used one of our projects to create this tavern sign.

The Brightwood Tavern Sign

"I simply used all the 3D images from the "Western Saloon #1" package. I only had inch and a half cedar, so because the bull skull was over an inch in height, I had to make a plywood backing plate. Lots of hand sanding and a clear coat brought out the cedar highlights.
Thanks for all your design work."

Scott sure did make that cedar look fantastic, not to mention his layout is top notch!

Thanks again Scott for sharing your project with us!

Hack of the Week No.100 - WOW!

The inspiration for a Design & Make Project Hack can come from just about anywhere at just about anytime.

In this case it was a deer mount that we saw in a local "Fish & Game" building.  The look of a wood slab to create the mount instantly reminded us to the wood slab included in the Animal Tracks No.1 CNC Project.

If you are a huntsman or fisherman then you're going to be interested in this hack.  It may just be the perfect way to display your prize and create the conversation piece to set the perfect mood to retell your favorite hunting story.

This "Deer Mount" was created using models from these projects:

The font we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout is call:  Palation Linotype
