Don's been hacking around again!

We always like getting hacks from customers and this simple little hack really turned out great!

Don Harding used 3 different projects to create this layout for a farrier service:

The sign is 5/8" x 4" x 11 1/2" made from black walnut and finished with matte Rust-Oleum Painters Touch.  He used a font called Narkism and painted black to have the lettering stand out.

Hack of the Week No.84

This time of the year, when it's colder outside, it not too hard to find yourself thinking about summer.  If you are fond of fishing then this layout might just get you dreaming of your favourite fishing hole or last years fishing trip.

This "Guide Service" sign layout was created using models from these CNC projects:

The fonts we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout are called: GeoSlab and French Script (edited)

Note - This hack was assembled in Aspire V8 for presentation purposes.  It could have been done in VCarve Pro V8 or VCarve Desktop.

VectorArt3D is a great source of single models to hack into your layouts and it's also a Vectric Company!

Models can be purchased from VectorArt3D as Vectric .V3Ms and work perfectly in VCarve Desktop, VCarve Pro V8 and Aspire.

Why not hack together your own layout mixing and matching models from other projects or from your own library!  For some great inspiration check out our  hacks page!

Hack of the Week No.82

"Joy to the World
the WINE is here!"

Tis the season to entertain so we thought it would be nice to create a layout that would work for a wine bottle coaster.  Using the plate from the Thanksgiving No.1 project we sized it so that the center recesses diameter was just over 3" (aprox. average wine bottle base is or what a quick Google search suggests it is).  Then we made the shape height of the model .35" to make the recess deep enough to set the bottle in.

The Christmas tree vectors that we used to simulate the VCarving (and were designed to be VCarved using your Vectric software) were free and downloaded from this year's Vectric Christmas Advent Calendar.

There are plenty more to be had this December so you should keep that link around and check back every day till Christmas.
