Customer Focus - Matthias Haase

It's always nice to hear from customers that are using projects to create a finished piece to celebrate a special event.  Matthias Haase used the Local Heros - Firefighter No.1  to create the two projects highlighted in this post.  The first is a wall plaque for a graduating class from a firefighting school and the second is a sign for a shop.  Both use the same layout but have finished bits that are unique to each piece.

Finished wall plaque.

"This shield is a Memorial Gift from the members of a Fire Brigade Course that’s started on 15 August 2016 and ended on 19 August 2016"

"For the Fire and Rescue School in Celle (Lower Saxony) Germany"

What a great gift and using the photo in the center is a very nice touch.

"Software I used is Aspire
Machine Software is EDING CNC
Dimension of the Size is 400 x 580 mm
Time on the machine 16 hours"

"Milling tools
6mm Endmill for 3D roughing 3600mm/min
3. mm Ball Nose for 3D finishing 3600 mm/min
3.175 mm 90 deg V Bit for small letters engraving 3600 mm/min
12.7 mm 90 deg V Bit for big Letters engraving 3200 mm/min
3.0 mm Endmill for Cut Out 3600 mm/min"

Reviewing the toolpath results.

Finished plaque without the picture added.

Finished and installed.

When finishing his second project he used a very interesting way to get the gold into the v-carved text.

"I used a CNC Machine called GP10050 from this small Factory http://auracher-lasertechnik.de/index.php/home-of-the-gp"

Looks like he ran his roughing pass and then painted the letters gold.  After the paint dried he ran the finishing pass to remove of the allowance material left from the roughing and also removing the extra paint.  The end result is very nice and makes the painting look very accurate and nice.

Great work Matthias!

Second plaque.

Rouging with v-carving added.

Application of paint.

Running the finishing pass to remove extra material and paint.

Customer Focus - Dan Steege

Dan Steege submitted his first images just a few weeks ago and when they arrived we were really impressed.  Dan has taken the Farm Fresh No.2 CNC project and created several different customizable layouts that he has used to make a pile of different plaques.  With his addition of raised text and recessed v-carving, even on the license plate of the tractor, his couple of layouts can be used over and over again!

"Thanks for the files I purchased awhile back. I have attached pictures of some of my completed projects to use as gifts to my extended family"

Dan has a 2008 Shark Pro and is looking to upgrade soon.

"I just want to say I found your files very easy to use. This coming from old retired wood worker who is enjoying the CNC very much. I use Aspire 8.5 a very good program."

We always love to hear from old school woodworkers who have added a CNC to their set of shop tools!   Seeing how his plaques turned out Dan seems to have gotten a good grip on how to use Aspire.

It's worth saying that even if you have V-Carve Pro V8+ or Desktop you can make pretty much the same layout easily, with the exception of the raised text.  The fix is to use v-carved text for all the text just like Dan did on the front of the barns.

Thanks Dan for taking the time to share your projects with us!

Scott Pearlman and The Brightwood Tavern

Scott Pearlman is at it again and he has set the standard higher for himself.  His latest project is not motorcycle related, like his last one, but we are pretty sure you will like it just the same!  He used one of our projects to create this tavern sign.

The Brightwood Tavern Sign

"I simply used all the 3D images from the "Western Saloon #1" package. I only had inch and a half cedar, so because the bull skull was over an inch in height, I had to make a plywood backing plate. Lots of hand sanding and a clear coat brought out the cedar highlights.
Thanks for all your design work."

Scott sure did make that cedar look fantastic, not to mention his layout is top notch!

Thanks again Scott for sharing your project with us!
