Michael Gombeda you are "Weekend CNC Warrior" Approved!

Michael sent in this picture of a wonderful plaque made using the Pick-Up League - Baseball mini-project.

The use of the stain on the bats and lacing of the ball is just superb.  It really lifts the design off the first plate model that was used for the plaque shape.

"The machine was a carvewright, the material is maple with aged maple stain on bats, ball seams and in the lettering and just spray shellac as a finish."

Thank you so much for sharing and, Michael, you can consider yourself "Weekend CNC Warrior" Approved!

Carl and his "Gnome Doors"!

You probably already know Carl Hird-Rutter from his fantastic wine cellar sign we posted last month so there isn't any need to go on about his creative style and finishing, so we won't.

In this case we want to highlight his "out of the box" style of hacking mini-projects to get some pretty unique layouts.

A while back Carl emailed us 2 very interesting designs that he put together using a couple of our mini-projects and a couple of pieces from his library..

The door is actually the horseshoe from the Western Saloon No.1 mini-project and the wine barrel top from the Wine Bar No.1 mini-project... crazy.  He also used the bull skull form the Western Saloon No.1  over the door in the first layout.

"I took the wine barrel from the wine bar and the horseshoe from the western saloon and made a gnome door. I used a stone texture for the background.
Also did a western gnome door."

Carl created the layouts in his CarveWright software.  Not sure if he ever machined one of them... but it sure would look cool in a kids playhouse or as a very unique door to his wine cellar!

Thanks again for sharing Carl!

Weekend CNC Warrior, Carl Hird-Rutter, is unstoppable!

Carl Hird-Rutter is at it again!  He used the Wine Bar No.1 mini-project and the free Heart and Ribbon mini-project to hack this beauty together!

"Just made a sign for a bulkhead on my basement stairs.
it is 1x10 pine.
The finish is two colours of Briwax. I love how it gets in the crevices and makes it pop.
The banner is from the free Heart MiniProject.

The font is Christmas Card 2"

Carl has sent us a few more submissions but we're going to save them for another time.  Truly amazing work Carl... thanks for sharing!
